Zihgir or Archery ring, shooting ring used in the thumb pull technique, annular ring (usually made of bone) that archers wear on the thumbs of their right hands to prevent injury to the finger while pulling the bow. Synonyms are found in Ottoman 'zingir', 'zehgir' or 'şast', in Arabic 'küştiban', in Iranian sources 'engüştvane' (which also means thimble). Shast means 60 in Persian and gets the name zihgir from here. Zihgir (chast), the first knuckle of the index finger, is placed on the thumb nail while shooting; this shape of the fingers is the equivalent of the number 60 (in the old Arabic finger account).
Structure and shape
Zihgir; palate or eyebrow, ear and sill are three parts. The palate or eyebrow on the long part of the mind that overlaps the finger; ear to the piece of skin adhered to its inner surface; the inner edge of the beam is called the threshold.
Zihgir is produced with an open back and fits easily on any finger without the need for finger measurement, it can be used on the thumb and ring finger
